Full course description
The AI in One Day event is an immersive, project-based experience designed to introduce participants to the exciting world of artificial intelligence in a single, intensive day. Scheduled for August 28, this event serves as both a standalone experience course and a unique opportunity to engage with the broader AI Summer Research Camp community.
Throughout the day, participants will explore core AI concepts through hands-on activities and guided instruction from experienced mentors. They will gain exposure to real-world applications of AI, including areas such as machine learning, computer vision, and natural language processing, while also developing foundational skills in problem-solving, critical thinking, and collaboration.
A distinctive highlight of the event is that participants will also have the opportunity to attend the final showcase of the AI Summer Research Camp. During this session, they will observe camp participants presenting their AI projects, offering valuable insight into what can be achieved through deeper engagement with AI over multiple weeks. This experience helps participants better understand the learning pathway and envision their own future participation.
In addition, participants will actively build and present their own mini AI projects. Working individually or in small teams, they will apply what they have learned to create simple AI-driven solutions, which they will then share during the program.
The program is designed to be accessible to beginners, with no prior experience in AI or programming required, while still offering meaningful engagement for those with some prior exposure.
By the end of the day, participants will:
- Gain a clear understanding of what AI is and how it is used in the real world
- Experience hands-on learning through guided AI activities
- Build and share a mini AI project
- Observe real student project presentations from the AI Summer Research Camp
- Develop greater interest and confidence in pursuing further studies in AI and related fields
